Brief description of planned activities
- Research on Internet-resources and main information systems in the field of education.
- Analysis of basic principles of systematization of national models for ICTs usage in education, basic needs and development trends.
- Conceptual design of the information system: structure of subsystems, definition of basic functions and parameters, choice of communication means, hardware and software resources of the system.
- Arrangement of contacts with interested organisations from UNESCO Member States to discuss the conception of ISITE and to organise co-operation in the pilot project' framework.
- Elaboration of Terms of Reference for the system and subsystems.
- International expertise of conceptual design and Terms of Reference for the project.
- Development of pilot thematic information sub-systems of ISITE such as 'Information resources of ICT in education', 'National action plans and policy documents in ICT' and other.
- Pilot filling of the thematic sub-systems and organisation of information exchange between partners.
- Evaluation of the thematic sub-systems usability.
Expected results and products
- Analytical survey 'Information systems on ICT in education.
- Classification of national action plans and policy documents for ICT usage in education.
- Conceptual design of sample information subsystem of ISITE for education national action plans and policy documents on ICTs in education.
- Information model of data flows for the levels of international subsystems and national subsystems.
- Pilot Implementation of information model and national information subsystems on the base of some regional IITE focal points.
- Prototype of information subsystems of ICT usage processes in education.
- Recommendations for creation, implementation, maintenance, and usage of subsystems of ISITE.

- Policy makers of educational systems of UNESCO Member States, their institutions and sub-structures in charge of using of educational information technologies.
- Teachers and trainers using educational information technologies in their work.
- Scientific users who carry out research of various aspects of information technologies in education.
